Haulin' Water

Good Afternoon

Well, it did start off hot and sunny, but since about noon, we've had clouds and squalls, there and about; a sprinkle here and there.

And, the partners showed up, just about the time I had things fairly well shaped up; more to do, but the lion shares done and it don't look too bad. Every spring we go through the same drill, but this year I think, we really made a difference; gettin' down to old wire and wood, steel and trash, like ta be here, since the first homesteaders.

I reckin' I'll keeper short, today;just waitin' for the water tank ta fill, haul a load for the bunch. Haven't seen 'em since our romp yesterday and I did start to wonder if parta their showin' up mighta been a bear, takin' a bath in the stock tank; hot and dry as it's been, sure are signs a critters jumpin' in for a soak and if there was a bear, that smell'll sure put a damper on a horses like ta drink.

Anyway, we'll haul one out and skim the tank, see if we can't fresh'er up.

Have a nice evenin'!

Best,

jeune

  1. Hope the partners appreciated all your hard work. And that you get that rain you've been waiting for.

Re bears: at least 2 or 3 times a week, the local news has stories of bears taking a swim in some pool or other in a local subdivision or some other place that is definitely suburbia, not the country. Folks shoot cell phone videos and send them in for broadcast. Guess bears need to cool off too, but in the burbs? Pretty wild.

  2. Nice rig for hauling water! I hope if there was a bear, he/she found another swimming hole. We've been seeing one black bear's hide-end every morning taking our walk ... doesn't much want our company. I don't mind that either ... LOL! I'm assuming you're talking grizzly. Our black bears get kind of big, but they're shy.

Bears in the 'Burbs ... sounds like a good title for a book. :D Even the bears are getting uptown-ish.

Getting ready for a big storm here ... might go South of us though, at least I hear it raining. Woods with this heat need a drink too.

Glad you got the lion's share done ... makes you feel really good! :) I've got the lioness' share done here .... summer means planning for winter. I really don't like biting bugs though ... Fall is my favorite time and Spring just before the bugs hatch. :)

    Blessings,
    Peaceful
